A Century of Service, The Army at Tobyhanna DVD
The WVIA Original Feature Presentation, A Century of Service, The Army at Tobyhanna; recounts the events and stories that intertwined the US Army's service to our country with our patriotic hard working region.
The mission of our Army is to support our country in times of need. Through war, depression, and natural disaster, almost every major American event in the past 100 years has been aided in part by the Army at Tobyhanna. Its presence in Northeastern Pennsylvania has tied this region to the narrative of our country.
The workforce and leaders of Tobyhanna Army Depot have maintained its responsiveness to the changing needs of the armed forces. Investments in facilities and training have enabled the Depot to provide the most efficient, cost effective support services to our nation's war-fighters.
Today, Tobyhanna Army Depot is the largest, full service electronics maintenance facility in the Department of Defense. It is an Army Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Command, Control, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance, as well as the largest employer in northeastern Pennsylvania.
From the horse drawn guns of 1912 to the missile guidance and control systems of modern warfare, the army at Tobyhanna has played an essential role in the success of our armed forces.
