Remembering Agnes DVD
Remembering Agnes, a WVIA original documentary film produced in 1997, documents the effects of the flooding that devastated the Wyoming Valley in 1972 when the Susquehanna River crested at a record 40 feet. The film reveals people's reactions to the impending flood and devastation to people and property caused by the rising waters. The damage from Agnes cost over $14 billion in today's dollars and 129 people were killed.
The story doesn't end there. Remembering Agnes dives into the aftermath and the politics involved in the recovery plan.
